Robert Gehorsam

Robert Gehorsam has spent his career exploring the dynamics between games, media and learning.  From his start as a book editor at Simon & Schuster, he went on to lead games, digital media, and education offerings at Prodigy Services, Scholastic, Sony and Viacom before becoming CEO of enterprise virtual world leader Forterra Systems and computer vision pioneer Image Metrics.  Most recently, he participated in several ed tech innovation efforts supported by the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, and was Executive Director of Institute of Play. In addition to putting together his own effort in immersive technology and learning, he is an advisor to several New York accelerators and independent start-ups in games, digital music, bio-fabrication, and Internet of Things.  He has also served as an advisor to DARPA and the Office of the Secretary of Defense on the significance of online games both socially and technologically, as well as STEM initiatives.
