Jackie Lopez-Barlow


Jackie Lopez-Barlow is the Radio Isotope Power Systems program manager at Los Alamos National Laboratory, which develops the nuclear power sources for spacecraft such as the Mars Curiosity Rover and deep-space missions like Voyagers I and II. A chemical engineer who was born and raised in Abiquiu, N.M., she has worked at the Laboratory for 16 years. She currently oversees development of the nuclear power source for the Mars 2020 mission, which is scheduled to launch in July of next year.
